He currently manages more than 300 inventions at various stages of patent prosecution. Many come from UCI’s School of Engineering\, School of Medicine\, and UCI’s Medical Center/Hospital. Alvin manages outside patent counsel\, drafts and negotiates agreements for UCI’s latest company spinoffs and startups. He is actively involved in academic and community outreach and frequently speaks on topics related to Technology Transfer\, Licensing\, and Commercialization of new technologies. Before joining UCI’s ITG\, Alvin was IP Counsel for Cengent Therapeutics (formerly Structural BioInformatics).
